Am I a "Legendary Spammer"?
When you “put yourself out there” you sometimes attract some crazies. Many celebrities have stalkers that follow them all around. My partner Diane Walker (MLMBlonde) and I had a stalker that followed us around for several years. This person would send us strange IM messages on AOL, say bad things about us on forums and other things. This went on for a few years. We think it may have been our ex partner that screwed us over royally.
Diane and I wrote a book called “Navigating The World of Network Marketing” which talks all about our ex partner at http://JackandDianeBook.com
Well it appears that I now have a new stalker.
This a woman on Twitter who is obsessed with me. So much so that she dug through pages and pages of search results on Google to find something to confront me with. Must have taken her hours lol. What she came up with was a page that some guy had written about me 10 years ago. I had known it was there but had forgotten. So thank you crazy stalker lady for reminding me! ?????? ???? ?????
heres the page:
http://www.pc-help.org/www.nwinternet.com/pchelp/lockdown/sites/servers.htm
Look down on the page where it says Connecticut and you will see the following Verbiage:
The spamming history of Michael Paris and his associates is something I've already uncovered, so the hosting of the Lockdown program on the personal website of the Top Guy of this spam- oriented marketing operation should be no surprise. "MLM Legend" indeed. As a f'rinstance, Jack Bastide is one of many "legendary" spammers The Saint dvdrip who kept an account with the hated, now former, Cyberpromo operation run by the Spam King, Sanford "Spamford" Wallace. Jack's username on cyberpromo.com? "Awesome."
Crime #1 – I bought a piece of software and become an affiliate
The guy who wrote the page is obsessed with some Guy named “Michael Paris”. I have no idea who Michael Paris is but from what I can gather he created a program called “LockDown 2000″. I vaguely remember buying this program back in 2000. I think it was a firewall program.
From what I can remember I think the program was pretty good so whoever sold it to me asked if I wanted to be an affiliate for the program. I did and put it it on an old domain I had MLMLegend.com. I don’t know if the person’s name was “Micheal Paris” .. it was a very long time ago.
Crime #2 – I bought an autoresponder
The next part of this accusation was my association with “Spam King” Sanford Wallace. I don’t know this guy personally but I do remember him from about 8 or 9 years ago. He had a company called CyberPromo that sold bulk email software I believe. I believe he also sold Autoresponders (Like Aweber and Get Response). I bought one of his auto responders.
Guilt By Association?
So basically I bought a piece of software and an autoresponder and this guy labeled me a spammer simply because he didn’t like the people I bought them from. Heck, if we’re going to talk about guilt by association maybe I should go find a crazy preacher, a few terrorists and other unsavory characters to hang out with. Then I can run for President!
I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown ipod
BTW , here is a picture of my accuser I got it off his website. Is it just me or does this dude look like a serial killer? Hey maybe I should fix him up with my wacko stalker on Twitter who is a female (or at least claims to be) I’m sure they would make a nice couple.
I think his name is Keith and his email is Confessions of a Pop Performer film pchelp@pc-help.org
I hope the spam-bots harvest his address and he will really see what spamming is all about. Here is his website http://www.nwi.net/%7Epchelp/index.html Super, The movie download
In the interest of transparency I have to admit i did “spam” once. Only I don’t think it was even called “spam” back then. It was called “bulk emailing” and everybody was doing it back then. This was like my first week on the Internet … maybe 1994 or so.
I bought a program that downloaded email addresses off the news groups (remember them?) and allowed to to email them all in bulk. I believe the program was called “Net Contact”. I downloaded a bunch of email addresses and sent them an email about a Home Based business I was involved in. I was so naive I even put my home phone number so they could call me for more info!
Within 5 minute I had several calls on my answering machine ,, and they weren’t happy! Within an hour they had shut down my internet access. Alas my “legendary” spamming career was over before it had even begun. And I had such promise as a spammer!
So thats my story and I’m sticking to it. Am I a “Legendary Spammer” as the crazy serial killer looking guy and my wacko Twitter stalker think? You decide!

Thanks for the link to that nwi.net. I think I’m gonna redo all my sites to have that look and feel. 1995 is the new 2009!
BTW you are overqualified to be President, since you have run a business.
Jack, I am very new to this internet business world (this year!) I have already found there are many whackos out there. It’s a shame that you even had to defend yourself from someone with an obvious ax to grind. Anyway, I’m on MLMBlonde’s team. She is awesome and I’m sure you are too! I’m learning to have thick ‘rhino’ skin in HBB; however, the joys and awesome people we meet truly make up for stalkers and whack-jobs!
Have a great weekend!

Hello Jack – I really like your MLM Blog, you have some really solid content and it sounds like you have been in the arena for a while. Having a salker just means that you are out there making a difference in he world – at least enough to get noticed and perhaps change a few thousand lives along the way.
I love Jordan Adlers book “Beach Money,” I know he is the number one earner in your company. Reading about his journey was interesting and it sounds like yours has been interesting as well.
Best wishes for a profitable 2009!

I stalked you from twitter, and ran

Bulk mail, those were the days…sigh…
sidenote: Fremont Ne, home of Hormel’s Spam Plant, so I happen to love Spam, it’s the
bee’s knees if you fry it up right, lol…

Hey Jack,
We used to chat on AOL many moons ago, I discovered you Twitter by accident, I’m gonna follow you. Nice to see that some old E room chat folks still are around.
Dave
Hi Jack!
Great post! Is that you in the picture or stock photo?
BTW, I sometimes read the newsgroups still! It hasn’t gone away!

Jack,
This is pretty whacko stuff. I think your response is well-done and shows you have nothing to hide.
