An Amazing Sight
I was driving to Sunday breakfast this morning when I saw an AMAZING sight. We were driving down U.S. 192 in Kissimmee, Fl The 12 Dogs of Christmas hd which is a very busy street. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the biggest bird I have even seen. I live right near a nature preserve and have seen Ospeys, Hawks and all kinds of birds but this thing was huge!

For those of you that are not familiar with US 192 in Kissimmee it is a very busy road. During rush hour its like a parking lot. Now this was Sunday morning at about 10 a.m. but there were still lots of cars whizzing by quickly.
The bird was circling over the road. All of a sudden he fell quickly to Earth. I thought he was sick or something and was going to hit the ground. He was falling right into the middle of the road .. with all the traffic!
At the last minute he pulled up with something in his talons. I couldn’t make it out but i think it was a mouse or another small animal. I caught a glimpse of his head and it was snowy white. It was a bald eagle! What a beautiful and majestic sight!
I mentioned this story on Twitter and got a lot of reaction. One person really caught my attention with her response. I will let her say it in her own words …

Eagles are amazing animals. They can spot a fish from a mile away, dive at 100 miles an hour, and pluck the fish from 10 feet below the water. They FOCUS on one Goal and they let nothing get in their way until they have attained that goal.
So the question is …
Are You an Eagle?

Hiya jack
This is truly amazing! I’m not up on birds or their habits etc but I agree with Marelisa about the focus!
I must be part eagle…cos I do get side tracked far too much!! ![]()
Lovely blog too ![]()

@Chuck W – this was my first time
@Beth – In was a once in a lifetime sight
@DebS – I sometimes have problems focusing too
Jack, this is unbelievable but….I saw a bald eagle today too, while driving on I-75 through St. Pete. It was awesome! It’s a sign of a good week ahead.
I saw an bald eagle last year. It was a majestic site. would much rather soar with eagles than run with turkeys!
Hi,
We all could learn from this : establish your priorities and learn to spot an opportunity even on a crowded street.
Thank you
The Eagle is such a majestic bird… I see the hand of God and the power of his Angels in the Eagle..
great story..
If you live in Washington in more wooded areas such as Bellingham, these guys are a common site. There isn’t a time I drove on I-5 toward B-ham that I didn’t see one. I’ve never seen one dive like that in a busy road though!
LOVE the eagle, and I named my inspirational book of miracles With Wings As Eagles. It’s from a verse in the Bible: Isaiah 40: 31.
What an awesome experience to see it right in front of you! Yes, the eagle has great focus, but even more patience. Then the reward – amidst chaos and danger! Even more powerful is the peaceful soaring on the updrafts that elevate him to an atmosphere of peace far away from the dangers down below!
Bless you for blessing me with that “picture” you painted so well!
That is an awesome story Jack! I AM an Eagle : ) and have been blessed to have a pair of Bold Eagles nesting near my home. They have not been around for about 1 year now, but they were in my backyard and around for about 8 to 9 years. They are beautiful, but when you are resting in the pool and they fly over you… it is overwhelming. Their wing span is so hughe! I live in Deltona, FL.

Hi Jack,
I can at times be eagle-like. We fortunately have the eagles returning to Ohio along Lake Erie. We have a Nature preserve close by which has a nest. At one time we had eagles nest in Ohio about 1 nest every mile along the coast of Erie, until habitat detruction and the spraying of DDT. Beautiful creatures, They are returning…

The Eagle I saw today is actually an Omen for me. In the Home based business I am in involved in we talk a lot about Eagles and how majestic and powerful they are.
In fact we often use the affirmation ‘I am an Eagle” to keep us motivated and on track. So now after seeing the Eagle today I am even more motivated :0)
My name is Jack Bastide and I am an Eagle!
