How Do You Use Twitter?

I use Twitter for both purposes, i.e. to communicate with existing friends I know as well as making new friends…it’s a really cool place to network, socialize & share stuff !

I use Twitter mostly to meet new people. I have found that the demographics of Twitter are Incredible and most people are above average in terms of intelligence and motivation. I have met some really great people and look forward to meeting more!

There’s no one I know IRL on twitter. I do use twitter to communicate with some blogging acquaintances, but mostly it’s to meet and communicate with new people. @minnemom

I use Twitter for both, to connect with friends and colleagues. But I also use it to meet as many new people as possible. It’s an amazing networking tool for a freelancer who doesn’t often get the chance to meet new people.

I use Twitter to go where I would never be able to go and to meet people I would never be able to meet. Twitter allows me to overcome the limitations of time, distance, geography, and social spheres. It is a social lever.

Like Captain Kirk, Twitter allows me to boldly go where no man has gone before.

I like to use Twitter for several different reasons: Social contact, I love meeting new people; the opportunity to network with people in my field; learn new information (I’ve learned a lot of great stuff); and just sometimes for no reason at all but to joke around or provide support for those who need it…how about you???

I use Twitter to build on existing relationships and create new relationships. I sometimes listen to and participate in interesting conversations and do a re-tweet of any useful stuff that comes up.

I use it to meet new people (like yourself!) and to learn how to do things. Lots of great expertise at easy access when you have a quick question! Must say, though, before I had Twitterrific, I didn’t tweet much at all. The desktop app is key!

I love twitter. It can be overwhelming with all the good reading material. =) I use it to learn, stay in touch with old friends, make new friends and share.

I don’t make a distinction, Twitter is just one more channel to communicate and build meaningful connections.

I started using it so I could talk to my network, going whereever they go, but there are millions of people to meet, no matter what medium you use.

Best of all, Twitter is fast and versitle

Mostly new, cause when I first joined I didn’t even know what it was, but since then I have met alot of interesting people. It’s a curious phenom because everyone offers to help you out. If I actually knew what I needed, I could ask for some help. Oh well, I’ll get it together soon.

I use Twitter to meet new people with similar interests in both business and personal zones. I also chat with a few that I already know. A large appetite to be social and learn from others is well-served on a platform like Twitter.

Great questions with some very interesting responses. Lots to learn.

Bottom line for me, and in the spirit of simplicity (high value item for me), I simply communicate on twitter as I would with my friends.

I’ve found (as Tim Ferriss shared with me) you will build a strong following and you’ll also find a few people who think you are the anti-christ. So be it. Much better than being boring, politically correct and down the center of the road — there’s far too much of that around already
