Why you Must be On Twitter
Meet Me On Twitter!
I’ve been watching Twitter now for awhile and frankly I didn’t get it at first. I thought that it was just a bunch of people posting random stuff that they were doing at any given moment. But it’s much more than that.
In my opinion the power of twitter is dialogue
and conversation. It’s about building relationships and increasing your network. This will help you no matter what business you are in.
Their is a saying that your income will be the average of your 5 closest friends. So the first thing I did when i got on Twitter was seek out the most successful people in my niche (marketing) and “follow them”. This means I signed up for their updates. Well lo and behold some of them actually followed me back!
As I am writing this I have over 1500 followers.
The vast majority of them are people that I didn’t know a couple of weeks ago. Every time I post something on Twitter over 1500 people see what I say. But it gets much better than that.
Some of the “big dogs” on Twitter have thousands of followers. Well if you engage them in conversation guess what happens? All of their thousands of of followers see them talking to YOU. And some of them will want to know who you are and will start following you.
One very important thing on Twitter (or any Social Media Site) is time management. It’s very easy to spend hours on these sites. They can be very addictive. The first two days I was on Twitter I was there almost 12 hours a day! So be very careful.
Here is how I manage my Twitter Time
1 – Login into Twitter
2 – Spend a few minutes scanning the Updates
3 – Respond to a few of the Updates which will engage me in conversation with the person that posted the update ( I make at least 4 or 5 new friends every day doing this!)
4 – LOGOUT and go on with my business

Since joining Twitter a couple of weeks ago I have accomplished the following: Twister
1 – Built a list of over 1500 followers
2 – Connected with some of the top people in the marketing niche. Have built some relationships through phone and email with people I have met on Twitter
3 – Showed the Send Out Cards Opportunity to several people that I have met on Twitter who were looking for a Home Based Business
4 – Met several guests for my Work At Home Radio Show.
In the next several weeks I am going to be sharing some Tips on Twitter. In the mean time If you haven’t already done so here what you need to do.

You are absolutely correct in your advice concerning social networking.
Social networking sites are great for expanding your sphere of contacts and trusted friends.
It has allowed me to find out more about you and how we may help each other.
Unfortunately, I am unable to follow you at twitter.
As you will read in my article about Twitter, they have some website issues to work out.
I am following 2000 twitterzens. And until my current ‘followers’ list reaches 2000, twitter will not allow me to follow more than 2000 members.
No need for concern, it is a safety measure to reduce spammers in the twitter community. I’ve just got to wait patiently.
However, you and your friends can help me follow more twitter land citizens if you are so inclined.

Jack, to your point, checkout the responses of this on-going poll http://twitwall.com/view/?what=000B06 To date, a combine total of 51% of respondents use Twitter for lead generation, recruiting, or customer/biz partner relations. For folks in MLM, Twitter is certainly a great tool.

I think twitter is great for quick communication and bringing award that is short and to the point.
